Mike founded Exotic Genetix in Tacoma, WA, in 2008 and quickly became one of the most influential cannabis breeders in the industry. His drive was a love and passion for the plant and a desire to share quality cannabis with other enthusiasts and medical patients. Mike quickly fell in love with growing and would trade time in the local hydroponic store for growing equipment, this is where he realized a need for quality seeds to help people grow their own medicine. Medical patients trying to grow their own weed would often start with clones, which would also come with a plethora of diseases, mildew, and pests, which were often impossible to treat.

Seeing so many customers asking for pest control answers, he decided to start breeding quality seeds to help home growers achieve clean and healthy plants grown from clean seeds. Starting with quality seeds and ensuring a clean room without any foreign additions gave these growers the answers they were looking for. Demand for Mike’s genetics increased, and a budding business was born.
