What is Paint Pouring?

This art style uses acrylic based paint mixed with a thickened pour medium. By pouring paint onto a surface, unique marble and drip-like effects begin to form. Artists can thin pour mediums to the desired consistency by slowly adding water. Using a color wheel can help prevent muddy colors from forming during your pour.

This Month Jill Maufort will be teaching us the wonder art form of paint pouring!

Lets get to know Jill Maufort a little bit better:

“I am a mostly self taught artist. I was blessed with a mother that was very artistic. She inspired and encouraged me to pursue my passion in art and creativity. I put my painting on a back burner while raising my girls and making a living. Then I took the path of raising horses, training and teaching natural horsemanship. A very full filling and joyful part of my life. I finally made time to get back to my passion for creating art. I discovered alcohol ink art and acrylic paint pouring. Oh WOW! Instead of trying to be a perfectionist, I fell in love with this art form! I started to just enjoy the process of creating unique and beautiful paintings. I love teaching and sharing with others how fun and therapeutic it is to create these one of a kind paintings. I’m so excited to share these techniques at the next Puff Puff Paint class at the Seed Cellar. I hope you will join us for a fun and creative evening!”
